Brackley Vision - Looking to the Future
Brackley is an attractive and historic market town with associations with important people and events such as the Magna Carta Barons, the Civil War and Magdalen College Oxford safe haven from the plague. The centre is situated around the old market place, where the Georgian Town Hall built in 1707 is the focal point. For many years it held regular wool fairs, being an important area for wool. The town's economy was boosted in the 19th centary with the coming of the railway, sadly now closed under the Beeching cuts.
