Constitution

as adopted November 14th 2003

1. Name

The name shall be the Brackley Market Town Partnership

2. Aims

The objectives of the Brackley Market Town Partnership are to provide strategic support and guidance, to promote, deliver and advise on initiatives which will enhance economic and social prosperity, improve vitality and viability, and conserve and enhance the built environment of the town. Its purpose will be to prepare and publicise an action plan, to identify sources of funding and to co-ordinate and to establish small working groups to progress schemes identified in the action plan.

3. Membership of the Partnership

The Partners will be drawn from and represent the public sector and business, social and cultural groups in the town and the immediate surrounding area. The Partnership will comprise:

3.1 Members of South Northamptonshire Council elected for the Brackley wards.

3.2 Members of Northamptonshire County Council elected for Brackley divisions.

3.3 Representatives of Brackley Town Council.

3.4 Representatives of Brackley Means Business.

3.5 Representatives from other business, cultural or social groups.

4. Meetings

The Partnership will meet at such intervals, time and place as shall be determined. The Partnership will undertake consultation with the community and its organisations, and prepare a range of specific, will form an action plan. Each project will be examined in detail by a working group, which will report back to the Partnership with a costed proposal. The Partnership will then submit the proposal to an appropriate funding agency or agencies. If funding is obtained, the project will be progressed by the working group.

5. Amendments

Amendments or additions to this Constitution may be made at any time by a simple majority of votes.
